I'm not thrilled about Depp being involved, but I LOVE everyone else here, especially Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz!) and Bret McKenzie (FOTC!). Gaiman's book is basically a kiddie riff on Doctor Who—another of my favorites—so this movie is going to be catnip for me. (They should just get Jemaine Clement to play the

Yeah, the outfit wouldn't work on most people, but I don't mind it on him. It's not what he wears so much as how he wears it—he seems more relaxed and comfortable now than when he was in his "magician's suit." My favorite outfit for Twelve, actually, is the usual dark coat with both the hoodie and the hole-y jumper

Ah, but Ollie already showed up last series as Missy's assistant in the Nethersphere (they really missed an opportunity there—Capaldi and Addison never had a scene together in "Dark Water/Death in Heaven"). BUT, if they do bring Chris Addison back, there could be a funny in-joke about where HE got his HIS face from….

I know—it makes me a little sad that most Americans don't know that Veep is basically The Thick of It transplanted across the ocean. I'm happy that the Veep actors are getting so much love here, but really, Capaldi/Tucker started it all, and if there's any justice, more people are watching TTOI now because of his DW

(Blushes) Yes, I'm with your wife; I'm finding Capaldi VERY attractive this series. I think it's also the longer, curlier hair. And the sense that he's feeling more confident in the role now. I've always admired his acting, but I'm finding that now I can't take my eyes off him.

And that from bean to cup, they f*** up!

Interestingly, doesn't the Doctor do that in The Fires of Pompeii, save a family (including Peter Capaldi!) who was supposed to die in the volcano eruption? There, Donna does the opposite of Clara—she saves these people she's only just met, rather than sending them to their possible doom (Clara sending Lunn out to

I'm REALLY hoping Twelve gets a new screwdriver sometime this series, one that looks different from Eleven's. Heck, even the War Doctor had his own screwdriver—give Twelve one of his own!

Right—as someone who watched DW back in the 80's, I can vouch that this show has always been a bit goofy and cheesy, and that's part of its charm. Having lived through the long hiatus during the 90's, I feel lucky to have DW now and to have people working on it who love the show and all its history as much as Capaldi

"In fairness, that whole scheme sounded infinitely more reasonable when Peter Capaldi described it, which is roughly reason number 500 that he’s perfect as the Doctor."

I love Slaughterhouse-Five, but I can see why Vonnegut's not for everyone. What's weird is that I don't find his work sentimental at all—I find it clear-eyed and tough and eerily beautiful at times.

"I don't mind the sewers thing, it made simple sense and yes, the Doctor is -always- one step ahead, it's repeated often enough, often he doesn't know exactly what is up, but he always learns before he tells us. Our job is to try and work it out before he tells us."

(I posted this in another forum, too, so apologies if this is repetitive for some.)

I saw more to her than her jealousy (and when Martha and Rose finally met in "Journey's End," there wasn't any jealousy or pettiness, just teamwork). I think Ten made Martha feel inferior a lot of times, when she was so capable. In any case—just a difference of opinion here!

Martha's my favorite companion—she was awesome in "Human Nature"/"Family of Blood" and "Sound of Drums"/"Last of the Time Lords." She just had the bad luck to come after Rose.

I loved it; definitely one for the longtime fans. Agree with the Missy love. Can't wait to talk about it all in the review thread.

I love that line, from my favorite episode of S8. Capaldi was excellent there.

It's funny 'cause it's true!—Homer Simpson
