Do you think anyone ever forgets when Purge day is? Like they think its Thursday when its really Wednesday? I feel like a guy who started Purging a day early without realizing it would look like this.

Too bad, that looked like a nice truck.

Probably a crazy guy who watches too much MSNBC.

Should illiterates and people who don’t have GEDs not be able to vote?

Do you seriously believe that Iowans are to blame for the ills of poor people in California? You dont think that their own representatives have something to do with it?

If your attitude towards these states is that theyre too dumb to have political influence, then Im happy that you find yourself disenfranchised.

Like what?

Look, if I was in North Dakota and somebody like you was trying to remove what I saw as essentially the only effective lever of power I had because you thought I was racist (or enabling white supremacy or what have you), I would be holding on to that thing for dear life. The fact that you presume the worst of intention

I find it difficult to believe that Iowans are the source of poor Californians problems.

You dont seem to understand what cultural or economic power are.

Glad I have you guys watching out for our best interests then! ;)

OK, I apologize for misrepresenting your point.

They can vote however they please, cant they? And how precisely do you know exactly what is in their best interests? I wouldnt presume to know what is best for you. What makes you a better judge of their situation than themselves?

Because they enjoy an economy approximately 100 times the size of Wyoming, along with the immense cultural influence of Hollywood, and the soft power of massive urban centers that enable powerful people to shape policy.

So if I live in Wyoming, why should I turn my representation in the Senate into a glorified suggestion box?

Not really. Its more of a snarky comment that Senatorially disadvantaged states usually enjoy massive cultural and economic power.

Seems pretty great that a small, struggling portion of the population can enjoy a measure of real political power against neighbors who enjoy far greater cultural and financial power.

My heart breaks for the beleaguered California peasants suffering under the cruel North Dakota aristocrats who rule this country.

the Senate—a body where states made up of less than one million people get the same number of seats as California

Kudos to Nike for bringing John Brennan and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad together, I guess.
