While I’ll agree they tweaked Thanos from that first appearance, I don’t think the plan was ever bring in the character of Death (nor did I want them to.)

Yeah, well, far-right fascists have been tone-deafly quoting MLK for 60 years. AOC can quote Rorschach.

When asked for comment, Moore said he hasn’t read the tweet and never reads tweets about this comic books but that he does donate all likes to the artists.

V for Vendetta is really a much more topical piece at this point in history, too.

“The better quote would have been “People shouldn’t be afraid of their Government. Governments should be afraid of its people.”.”

What doesn’t he hate other than a good beard massage?

Alan Moore releases statement saying he fucking hates it.

Lisa Loeb has an answer specially prepared for that.

It’s unlikely it was being considered, it was just a winking joke for the fans. At that point, there were arguably no concrete plans for Thanos beyond, “we’ll get to this eventually.”

I think it’s a bit of a stretch to class comic-Thanos as an “Incel” — I think that implies broader misogyny and bitterness than he displays. He’s definitely obsessive and “stalkery” toward Death (though I don’t think any “power imbalance” can be asserted there), but I don’t think he displays any special contempt for

Look at the upside! At least it’s not Karen.

I mean, sure, but I feel like Thor’s dialogue in the scene is clear that the reason Asgard didn’t help is because Asgard has been destroyed. Even if it was during Loki’s reign, where he was quite negligent of his duties, you’d think even he would be worried that Asgard’s source of godly weapons got massacred.

“And thinking that what we all wanted was for Castle to learn how to love again with the help of a headstrong teenage girl serving as a substitute daughter for the one he lost?”

Oh god no, oh dear god, please no. This is a joke review, right? The real review is coming out later? Please? :(

Deleted for stupidity.

From one point, you’re probably right that they didn’t have a concrete idea that the Tesseract would turn up to be an Infinity Stone, but on the other, they could have very easily called it a Cosmic Cube and be done with it, so who knows.

Yea, I should have clarified that I meant that from Thanos’ point of view. She really doesn’t do anything to lead Thanos on, (possibly other than get with Deadpool, which is the crazy-ass adaptation I really want to see Marvel pull off now).

Thanos’ motivation in Infinity War is the most nonsensical idiocy they could have come up with. I really hate what they did, to the point that I can’t enjoy the movie.

There wasn’t actually a plan at that point. According to what Whedon has said, he was the one who pitched the idea of having Thanos be who Loki worked for and doing the scene with Thanos at the end...with the idea it could be something to built up too. Marvel then agreed with him and gave him the thumbs up to continue.

in regards to the Asgard not protecting Nidavellir, i feel like that could be explained by Loki having been a real shitty ruler of Asgard and letting the realms fall into chaos during his reign. which i feel like was implied or outright stated during Ragnarok? i don’t recall.

The gauntlet timeline irrationally annoys the shit out of me. I could let it slide as a simple retcon if they didn’t put that stupid throwaway “fake” gag in a movie that directly proceeds IW.
