I kind of get the impression that a group like this will be a rotating roster, based on which of them are available at the time.

I didn’t catch that.   I am wondering just how weird the MCU has to get before he actually shows up as a charater.  10 years ago I would have said it would never happen but we got walking trees and talking racoons now.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that Marvel is licensing out its characters to other comic book companies to make books for it. Kinda makes me wonder what the future may be for the comic side of the company. .

Not featured here, but Young Justice tops the list for me. The first issue was fantastic yesterday! I found myself just smiling throughout!

Yup. Also, it’s not like Kevin Hart is known for having a really cerebral comedy style. He’s ignorant, and he’s determined to stay that way...so fine, let him.

He obviously thinks that the joke wasn’t a problem. There’s no sincerity to his apologies, no sign of understanding the problem. Truly penitent people aren’t upset at having to apologize. Truly pentimento people realize that they caused harm to someone and regret that harm. This is a child being told to apologize

lesser known heroes like ...Beta Ray Bill

Based on Cates’ comments, it sounds like a weird Marvel version of LoSH so overstuffed might be kind of the point? Hickman tried to do the same with his Avengers run, with mixed results.

He’s gaslighting audiences to think homophobia isn’t homophobia. I’ve seen a lot of comments on here trivializing it, but it’s right there in the pot with every other strain of bigotry and it still matters, damn it.

They do and they don’t. It’s really on a person to person level. The reason why pacifism is such a prevailing concept in Japan is largely because they never want to repeat the mistakes of their past. Abe who has been pushing to establish an actual military presence has been met with backlash from citizens who don’t

Freeform passed on the New Warriors series, which is still in development without a network attached, not even Disney+.

I’ve visited the Yasakuni Shrine. I don’t think people realize what a hotbed of insane, neo-fascist propaganda it is - this is *not* harmless. There’s a museum as part of it, and you can learn the “real truth” about Japan’s imperial expansion, all of which is insultingly false. A few highlights:

Add Nanjing massacre and Sook Ching massacre to the list.

An company that has international recognition can't afford to be culturally ignorant.

It’s really not, though. It borrows a few plot elements from Lucifer, but 98% of it is its own thing.

I lol at all the false equivalency - Jefferson Davis? Pearl Harbor? Let's have some real comparisons. To the Japanese apologists - imagine a global company visiting the Los Alamos nuclear test site to celebrate Trinity for the new year, and fat man and little boy. You think the Japanese would shrug their shoulders at

“the war criminals weren’t added until 1978" that’s exactly why it’s controversial. icymi world war 2 ended in 1945, those war criminals all died during or shortly after the war. their enshrinement was a huge political act. if this weren’t the case the shrine still might be considered a nationalist hotspot, but would

So many shows have already done this. My twist is that, instead of the generic evil government looking to disrupt our heroes good times, it’s The United Federation Of Planets. It’s easy to believe “The Empire” is evil because they’ve never been anything else. We know who the Federation are. We’ve sided with The

What an awful and uninformed takeaway. Of course, people like you don’t care - nor will you ever.

It’s a low-end Pratchett book or a high-end Gaiman. I haven’t particularly loved any Pratchett adaptation yet, because the BBC ones all seem to miss the fact that Pratchett is a satirist rather than a humorist. This is particularly true for the source material of Good Omens. It may not be laugh-out-loud hilarious, but
