My guess is that the PHB Races will be updated in 2024 with what’s unofficially referred to the 5.5e update for the anniversary of D&D. This is just to update the Volo and Tome of Foes races to fit the style that they’re taking races going forward.

Even money it’s some aircraft the US or JSDF is testing out.
