I was thinking the same thing. Certainly the new Paradox Pokemon aren’t from these new areas, but they aren’t part of the DLC. To name a DLC story centered around leaving the Paldea region after the crater in the center of the Paldea region... I’m just confused by that.

I haven’t read the light novels so I don’t know if that’s the same for the manga adaptations, but at least the story and non-pun based gags in Bakemonogatari are plenty strong enough to hold that series up without losing too much sleep over missing out on puns.

Because it’d be super weird for a very successful writer (Nisio Isin) and an artist on his first serialization (Iwasaki Yuuji) to set out with the specific goal of making a manga that can’t achieve worldwide success? It’s an unfortunate side effect of the story they created, not a goal.

When the puzzles are language-based, as many of them are, they become difficult or even impossible to translate, let alone localize. I promise you, the writer (singular, not writers) is spending his time thinking up compelling puzzles as well as…
