#1 for me is Risk of Rain Returns. Remake of the original Risk of Rain, with modern multiplayer, new survivors, new levels, the works. Hopoo developing and Gearbox publishing, despite them buying the IP from Hopoo last year. This is Hopoo’s final work with the Risk of Rain IP, and I’m definitely looking forward to

Speak for yourself.

Man, when I read a couple weeks ago that they’d filed for this trademark, I was hoping it was coming to the Switch. It’s surprisingly deep. One of the best little eShop gems for the 3DS. I hope this Apple Arcade version is a timed exclusive and it’ll make its way to the Switch soon, or at least to Android/iOS.

My GOTY is Risk of Rain 2 for the second year running, with the Survivors of the Void DLC clutching on to me and not letting go. I played that game for over 270 hours this year, bringing my total time played to almost 400.

A friend of mine recently posted on facebook that when he wants to see the best of gaming communities, he looks to the BGM community. When he wants to see the worst, he looks to Kotaku comments.  I don’t agree with him, but the worst of Kotaku sure is replying to my above comment.

god damn the greys are having a field day with this one

People aren’t “looking for reasons” to be angry. People are rightfully angry over transphobia, and this game is based on the franchise created by one of the world’s most visible transphobes. And fuuuuuuuuuck you and your stance of “ignore it and it’ll go away”. That’s not how social change works. The trans community

Yes, yes. How brave of you to give your support to both sides. What a rebel. You’re a hero.

Typical sale for Risk of Rain 2 + Survivors of the Void DLC is also back on, at 50% off (reg. $25) and 35% off (reg. $15) respectively, or $22.25 ($40)

Oh, and my favorite manga of the year is One Piece for the seventeenth consecutive year.

You’re right, thanks for pulling me out of there

Such as my example of ROAR - I Can’t Handle Change, which is a band I’ve loved ever since that EP showed up on Jeff Rosenstock’s digital record label. Ten years of obscurity, then all of a sudden the song shows up on TikTok and they have 300 million spotify plays and I have a shiny new record.

Isn’t that what this entire article is about?  The song was in the show but the dance got connected to an entirely different song on tiktok, and now the tiktok song is getting radio play, not the song from the show.

I dug into Blue Lock (not Blue Box, listed above) this year and read the entire thing in a couple weeks. It’s so damn good, up to and including the current arc.

I dropped Ginka & Gluna only a few chapters in, but I’ll pick it back up on this recommendation.

Wow. You’re absolutely right, your silliness runs deeper than I care to further engage with.

I don’t give one single damn about defending Kotaku. One of my most recent comments was snipping at Ethan Gach for writing that Pokemon Legends Arceus looks like an N64 game. I am just disagreeing with silly ass things people say.  Not that deep.

Doesn’t mean that the remaining members, or the family of deceased ones, don’t get royalties from sales!

Do you think there’s people on Jalopnik who get all huffy when they do articles about racing video games?

I don’t know what to tell you other than Kotaku has never been video games only at any point that I can recall. If you want games only, there are certainly other sites out there that can accommodate.
