The Halle Berry effect is something entirely different. Everybody sees an Oscar as a breakthrough for actors that will make their careers. But often it can be very hard to get cast after an Oscar win, especially for actresses.

When the argument is that people that have just a passing knowledge of both Silence of the lambs and transsexuals might see Bill as an example of a trans person, I guess mentioning that you have seen the film 50 times makes you actually less of an expert.
