I was playing the game as my wife came in. She just looked at me, sighed, and walked away.

Now playing

I feel like this video is very relevant to these comments.

Whew, finally. Hideo Kojima isn't going to make MGS anymore. He's going to leave Konami. We can all finally stop with all of our twittering and pleading and hashtagging and Facebooking and snail mailing and regular e-mailing and pigeon carrierin—*remembers Silent Hills existence*

Ohh shit! He can't leave Konami yet!

Last time I commented on an article about female fighting game characters, I got railed on by dudes calling me a SJW.

Cool article about Beat em Up designs or yet another political agenda by Kotaku? You decide!

Really glad to see this is finally becoming the prevailing opinion. The few people who want to change Link's gender for the sake of change and no other reason have made themselves loud enough where rational minds have finally said, "Okay, wait. That's enough."

Links gender is very important, If we take account the lore as being VERY important but what about in Skyward sword which is the earliest game chronologically. Hylia chose link before she reincarnated herself as zelda for 1. A goddess reincarnating herself chose the form that best suited her and chose someone whos

It's irrelevant in that neither character is defined by their gender for the vast majority of their existence, which is fantastic. They're male/female respectively, but their maleness/femaleness never defines who they are as characters, its their actions that define them as characters.

Because Link has an established history as a male character for decades? Because there's no reason to gender change an existing, loved character.

Remember when gaming writers were defending Mass Effect 3's ending and saying that games have artistic integrity and shouldn't be changed by popular demand?
