I can’t believe that Square Enix actually found a way to restore my ancient, highschool hype for this game. I was only at the “yeah, if I get a ps4 I’ll buy it, sure” for the last couple years, but the hype is now fully restored.

Haha, the first one you got is the exact same as the one I’m still using now, the aqua blue one with the same zelda shell on it. I might need to transfer to my Majora Mask one soon though, especially if I want to play Hyrule Warriors Legends.

Now that I check the bulbapedia article on it, it seems that there is no concrete answer after all on the origins of their designs. It’s all just speculation. Unless the designer came forward and gave an answer, the word on bulbapedia is about as good as any of ours, since it was written by fans.

I was actually making a small animation based on this exact concept, like a mock Zelda movie trailer based on one from The Wind Rises. Hopefully I can get it done sometime, I was doing the animation in Photoshop but it’s a royal pain in the ass.
