The majority of us are on here for those quick little serotonin hits, otherwise they wouldn’t put the little stars in the corner. I don’t blame him, but I’d prefer he direct his insults at me instead of hiding behind someone else.

My comments were never specifically about racism. Hell, why not just start administering citizen scores like China? If we are so dedicated to eliminating bigotry in all it’s forms why not implement morality policing?

And I agree. His job is to tweet. He tweeted bad stuff in the past, therefore it opens the door to the scrutiny. I just don’t like this idea that we need to adhere to professional standards of conduct even when we are not being paid. Teachers getting fired for past sex work for example.

Are we firing any and everyone who has made a racist joke at any time in the past regardless of their views now?

What I mean is there was a much higher tolerance for risque humor in 2010 than there is in 2022. Punching Up and Punching Down have only recently filtered into the collective discourse.

It’s not an informed choice if you’re being influenced by those spouting misinformation that could get you killed. 

I wish people cared as much about social justice as they do about making strangers on the internet believe they do. 

These tweets are 6-12 years old at this point. He definitely opened the door to scrutiny given his position but come on... Anybody offended by these tweets was actively seeking them out just to be offended. If anything the viral nature of the net holds a magnifying glass to them thereby amplifying their questionable…
