Dude, Mario Maker is AMAZING. Don’t let these criticisms stop you from digging in, or at least considering whatever follow-up they do. I’m not sure I’ve had more fun with a game in the last 10 years.

Internet: You are whore for showing your boobs.

Maybe PewDiePie should review his own shit game that was worse.

people being disappointed or upset with a TRAILER is as crazy as a count down on a website for a teaser trailer. It’s clear now to me why Donald Trump is a possible front runner for president.

I know a lot of folks aren’t on board, but seriously, this is my new nerd crush.

Or in other words: “Whoops I was wrong. Activate ancient Kung Fu Pandaren backpedal technique!”

Lord Farquaad is the worst, though... that tiny character model is too hard to target, so OP!

The kicker here is that that both the majority of mechanics and the aesthetic were literally ripped straight off of hearthstone. This is clearly an attempt to cash in on a working formula.

So...does that mean I’ll finally get my Shrek RTS?

“How to Train your Kids to play Hearthstone

This is the dumbest thing ever written. They're nearly funded with like 25 days left. Clearly, people care enough to make their vision a reality.

I mean, these guys have produced two amazing “chapters” of this game already, the second of which was as big as any full-length game. They deserve to be trusted as far as Kickstarting goes.

the problem is that its all of those. sometimes horrible and scammy things come out of kickstarter. other times the most amazing things ever seen in gaming that publishers would never touch because its considered ‘unsafe’ come from kickstarter.

This game is the complete inverse of Gone Home. This game surprisingly had a fair amount of work put into it(how can nobody at least praise the physics?) but gets unrepentantly shunned because of a detail about the main character(blatant psycho). Gone Home was surprisingly barren of gameplay or interesting storylines,

Yeah, because that’s how the world works. Give me a slice of pizza, and I’ll pay you for it if I feel like it was delicious enough for my standards.

The thing is, you are comparing game mod profit splits to profits splits for development tools. The split is a lot more fair than you seem to believe. As much as a great modder should be able to support themselves doing what they are great at, modding can’t logically be as lucrative as game development unless you are

There’s a reason for this. Modding is, at its core, a work of passion. Adding money to the mix will just allow any two-bit hack to spend an hour in Blender and throw their trash up for sale. Which is precisely what happened.

How is this any different than, say, making music?

Good modders should have the option of asking for money for quality work.

I don’t know if celebrating is the right response. Especially given how vulgar some of the attitudes and tactics were for those that opposed the paid mod scheme.
