When I saw the pictures of the 124 rally I made a sound so dirty the porn filters kicked in and blocked all images.
It’s not terribly good either. The benchmark for the time was the Peugeot / Citroën 1.7 litre XUD turbo diesel which made 90 bhp and 133 lbs-ft. I had one in a ‘90 Citroën BX TZD Turbo Estate which would cruise at 100 mph all day on the French Autoroute and return 40 MPG Imp. in the process. I did 238,000 miles in 8…
I cannot give this enough stars. Jalopnik is the true home of poor automotive design, neglected badge-engineered compromises, duct-tape fixes, soft Corinthian leather, captive imports, and NSU rotary engine swaps into Korean tractors.
Gonna have to revoke your Jalop Card, Máté. We LOVE bad decisions.
Levante is also an Italian name for the Italian Riviera, and the name of a wind that blows across the western Mediterranian Sea. Funny thing about words is they often times have many meanings especially proper nouns!
Polish pilots have always been kind of crazy, but in a good way. Going back to World War II, some Polish pilots escaped to England where the RAF gave them planes to help fight against the German’s during the Battle of Britain. These Polish pilots accounted for a majority of kills during this time, if memory serves me…
No, it was named after some black chick in Detroit.
Just because some group falsely claims ownership, doesn’t mean the name of the geographic region is no longer acceptable. Better not call it America any more because of the Confederate States of America- kinda ruined it now forever, right?
Are we going to talk about this at all?
Uh, you don’t drive this one snow, sir. You drive it when the sun is shining and all is good in the world. Duh.
I had some moron throw coins at my car once while I was driving. I responded by throwing a brick at his car. He seemed to have ran out of coins after that.
That porous wood in the Volvo is a fad. You're wrong and you're a victim of liking the latest fashions. I bet you like bars with reclaimed wood and Edison bulb decor. Idiot.
Great flip. Excellent flexibility. Good poise. Shame he didn’t stick the landing.
Call it Schadenfreude, but every bit of bad news coming out of this travesty makes me smile. Every one proves that the BBC management genuinely believed the brand was bigger than Andy Wilman and the 3 stars, (and by inference their opinions and editorial content). Every problem they encounter proves they were wrong
Agreed the doors are cool, just like they were on DeLorean’s and countless other cars. Problem is that just like all those cars they are going to be a maintenance nightmare and/or general pain in the ass.
There are tons of low drag door handles (from C3 Corvettes and Miatas to custom street rods) that don’t require wireless sensors and motors to work. Beyond looking cool and futuristic, there’s nothing that a conventional handle can’t do more reliably and with less weight and complexity.
I swear, between those doors and not having a cheaper model (the supposed 3) when gas dropped price, this will be the writing on the wall for Tesla. I am all for the company and have been from the start but opening your rear doors was never a real problem, particularly when the fronts are still conventional, and…
I still don’t see how this was ever a good idea.
