Oh, I totally agree about that, running across the same group of enemies again and again did get tiresome, but I think the problem lies within the games denseness. The map is huge, but scarcely populated, and most of it filled with the same kinds of monsters. The only non-post-dragon part that actually posed a threat

Perhaps multiplayer in an arena, like the everfall chambers. I could see PvP and co-op work in that sort of environment, but I think the pawn system worked well enough for the main game.
