Yes! And a good book in there with me.
Hello all, I asked this question in a different, under-attended thread so I will repeat it here...
What are your go-tos for self care that don't take much energy? My depression and exhaustion from work have reached a peak this week.
I woke up to a pleasant surprise early this week, that I’ve been waiting to share; I believe I am out of the greys! Thank you to whoever it is at Jezebel who had the faith in me to do this, I promise I'll repay it with quality posts and be as positive member of the community as I am able.

I got a new job! I start next month. I’m a little worried about the future because it’s a startup, but it seems like it's gonna be an interesting experience. And unless the weather is terrible, I can walk there! Woooot
What about something like this? I really like this company for their environmental considerations.
I’d recommend never talking politics with them. If they try and goad you into it, change the subject. If they don’t respect that, tell them you’re going to hang up/leave if they don’t respect what you’re asking of them, which truly shouldn’t be a big hairy deal for them to do if they value your opinions.
I’m not having the best time mentally - the holidays always bring it about, combined this time around with Mr. Duck being between jobs for the second time this year - and I’m resisting making Major Life Decisions until I’m a little healthier in the brain. (For instance, I am both seriously considering working on…
My deepest thanks again to all of you for your support last week about making the leap towards a new job and a new, better life for myself.
I used to think pecan pie made with maple syrup, like the way god intended, was the best thing ever and then I ate sweet potato pie and my life has a new meaning.
I’m an absolute wreck at the moment... My dad was in a motorbike accident on Friday. He is in the hospital with his pelvis broken in 4 places, tailbone in 2, bruised bladder, torn urethra, a heap of gravel rash and the top of his ear torn off. Thank God he was wearing all his protective gear! But I'm so stressed and…
Any other rebels out there doing something different for Thanksgiving? We switched to making these instead of turkey last year and are doing it again this year, and probably forever. Zero stress, less waste, tastes better, and a shitload of awesome homemade chicken stock the next day.
Has anyone tried Mad Hippie? MUCH cheaper so I’m tempted, but would like to know if it is comparable...
Good lord! Yale hasn’t been this disrespected since The Krokodiloes sang a pop medley at the intercollegiate recital when jazz standards were clearly specified in the program!
VS wasn’t cheap shit fast fashion before now? Color me shocked.
Yeah, that can definitely be frustrating. You’re so right though, the “currency” of conversations is compliments. I don’t think you need to worry about your own actions, though. Maybe he really DID like your jacket! Even if saying that was a way to segue into something else, it’s not like the origibal sentiment was…
Does anyone else have to deal with corporate shenanigans at work? At my job, the executive leadership team decided to use this system for efficiency developed by Toyota, adapted (poorly) for a hospital system. It’s a real waste of my time, and three times a week, I text my husband, time for the corporate jargon…
So all along, Victoria’s secret was that she’s a bitch to other women. WHO KNEW.
