I read the first two books  and Outlander is one of those TV series that I like better than the books, mostly because of the casting is so good that I find the characters more interesting than they are as written.

The way I tend to think of it is that Avatar was on the whole the more balanced show, and arguably had a higher average quality. On the other hand, that means that while Korra’s lows were lower, its highs were higher.
