In a lot of states, having a baby makes you (legally) an adult. Now, Debbie is not capable of supporting herself but legally Fiona may not have to now that Debbie had a baby. I mean, Fiona SHOULD, but she might not have to.

I also hate that they took Debbie down that path, but I also think it’s pretty realistic. Not the rape part, but the wanting to get pregnant to assert her independence. It isn’t right, but sometimes teens who are in a rush to grow up think that having a baby isn’t any big deal.

I agree with this to some extent. Financially they should contribute. Lip seems willing to help with the younger kids, for Ian it hasn’t been an issue yet. I get the feeling something bad is going to happen (perhaps to Harry) because Fiona won’t answer the phone and Lip will be otherwise occupied.

These days I watch for Ian and Carl. I used to root so hard for Lip but the way he threw everything away just made me so mad!

Yes, Debbie is basically my least favorite these days. Carl is my new favorite, which I never would have thought could be possible.

Well, you could make the argument that she just really doesn’t know how to parent, but I feel like at this point she isn’t trying. I kind of see it as an interesting parallel to Monica. She wants to do what she wants to do, and damn any responsibilities that stand in her way.

I agree, but honestly Fiona is bothering me. She worked so hard to get guardianship of these kids and she just doesn’t seem to care. Now I get that Debbie, Ian, and Lip are all old enough that it doesn’t matter really (especially w Debs baby), but Carl & Liam are still very much minors that are her responsibility.

It was earlier this season. She told Frank that she wasn’t going to call her Frannie anymore.

I agree with you 100%. We can say he’s a hypocrite because he jets around the world, etc, but personally I’m of the opinion that he does much more good than bad in terms of climate change.
