Adding:

I think I can speak for every sane person in Texas when I say: hooray! We’d love it if you never come here. We’ve been trying to stop your ilk from coming here and ruining the state like you did in California and New York.

Yep, the cheating is for a reason. The wave of voter suppression laws in Republican-owned states (not elected, just owned now), is expressly because the GOP politicians and mega-donors can see the voterbase turning more and more anti-GOP.

Yes they really are that unpopular and if they hadn’t gerrymandered this country to hell then they wouldn’t be winning Congressional seats in the first place.

Yup. Which is why every black person in Texas who can’t move away from that shit should just assume someone is going to try to find some reason to shot them that day and just start carrying guns too. It’s merely self preservation at this point.

Texas is actually pretty late to the game here, so I’m not sure why people think its new gun law is some new low for Republicans. Nearly half of States allow permitless concealed carry, which I think just shows that so many people have not been paying attention to the extreme shit these legislatures have been doing

I just don’t see that ending in anything other than another black person dead at the hands of a white cop who ‘feared for his life’.

Anyone can see where this is headed.”

They have no idea what they’re doing. Even if it were to withstand any Court challenge, it means Police could do nothing if a group of fifty Proud Boys decided to walk through the State Capitol openly carrying guns and intimidating the same legislators that just passed this idiotic law. An unfettered right to bear

Are they really becoming that unpopular though? They keep winning congressional/senate seats and holding up everything Democrats try (not very hard) to do. They even managed to get one to successfully run as a Democrat (Manchin).

No it won’t; it’s already happened.

As always, of course, ignoring the first half of the one sentence in the 2nd Amendment. If there was an amendment that said, “People should not have guns”, they would declare “have guns” is our right!

Good laws take thought and planning, which is much harder than kneejerk reactions to get people riled up.

It makes sense. I mean, the right has been ruining things and then bitching about the new Dem president for decades (after leaving messes that even the best president would struggle to fix), and they’ve shown that mid-to-high six-figure deaths mean nothing to them, so now it’ll be “There was a bloodbath, and yes,

Every black person in Texas should, if they don’t already have them, buy every fucking gun they can and be strapped every time they leave the house. Not only because of this stupid law but on general principle.

Citizen: But officer, I was just strolling the aisle in Walmart when I saw a nutjob getting ready to shoot up the store. I was fearing for my life, so I grabbed a baseball bat and hit the dude in the head. He kept moving and appeared to be reaching for his gun, and I feared for my life, so I hit him in the head again.

This commitment to gun rights will be tested the first time a Black gun owner shoots a White person in self defense.
