it’s avatar but it looks bad and they apparently sucked all the fun out of it. there’s your primer. they won’t stop til they’ve ruined every innovative cartoon ever.

...that will justify its cost when players see how “vast and complete” it is.

Young Sheldon is no Malcom in the Middle

Whether or not it’s got a $70 base price I honestly am just not interested in another big live service game. I can imagine multiplayer being good for a game like this but it’s the main focus I’m not as interested. Just give us a modern Pirates!

Because autistic coding for an adult is that they act like a child, and autistic coding for a child is that they act like a mini-adult. The shows are an exercise in caricature, and childish men and adultish children are both read as short hand for nerdy and neurodivergent in ways that are easy to laugh at. Hence,

I think so but I also think FO4 was already beginning to show the cracks in Bethesda’s basic gameplay loop. The other major flaw for Starfield was competing with CP and BG3 at the same time and losing to both in Characters and Scale.

I can't be the only person who thinks bounty hunter is such a boring waste of this setting, right? Maybe it'll be good! Maybe! But boy does this sound like well trodden ground we don't need to revisit.

“Rocksteady’s (pretty good!) Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League”

I could spend the rest of my life without another Star Wars, Superhero, or Harry Potter game. God this is getting boring.

What in Jeebus’ name does this mean? Am I so far behind on modern slang?

Starfield also very much falls into this category. Had it come out sooner it would have probably been well received but Skyrim in space over a decade after Skyrim in a year where some of the best games of this century(maybe ever) have been released just killed any momentum it had.

Honestly given this is an Ubisoft game slightly Assassin’s Creed adjacent, its a surprise the history is that bad.  Assassin’s Creed games are so well researched that they turn around and put out educational side games for them for schools that teach people about the eras(without all the throat stabbing).

Okay as the pirate historian, this game is bizarre. The opening narration talks about capitalism and mega corporations, which doesn’t fit. Its set in 1695, East India Company is around but its not a global monster yet, and mercentalism is the dominate economic style, Adam Smith isn’t even born until 1723.

“I was a bad and abusive husband and he had a journalist dismembered.  We get each other!”

I don’t think Steven Seagal is being paid.

I’m aware I’ve become jaded, but I can count on one hand how many games I even caught my attention in the PS5 generation. Some games I’d say were genuinely boring. I may not even get the next system, it’s just a time sink, and I done being disappointed.

Is there a single game that justifies buying the expensive PS5? There probably is, but I can't think of one. I kept my PS4 and I still use it very often. It is also interesting to note the difference between the US and Europe. PS5s have been sitting on shelves since day 1. I don't think there was ever a shortage here.

i guess it really depends on if you call the launch of the ps5 the end of the ps4. technically speaking the ps4 is still getting games.

I mean, it’s at least almost half way through its run if they do another seven year cycle. In any case I haven’t even bought one yet so, eh.

I’m still happy with my 500M edition PS4 Pro and haven’t seen anything “next gen” enough to persuade me to upgrade. if they’re already getting ready to kill it off, I don’t see the point in getting one.
