Coincidentally I just started playing FFX for the first time after having some version of it on a shelf for 15+ years, and I can confirm that as a new player with fresh eyes, Blitzball is trash and I hate everything about it.

I for the life of me could never figure out Blitzball. I tried, but soon grew to immediately hate it, and never touched it again after you play it in the story. Sucked when I later found out that you had to win in Blitzball to get most of the components to make Wakka’s ult weapon. Through playing around in Wakka’s

I like the idea of Blitzball - both as an in-universe sport and as an element in the game. I like the idea of underwater soccer played in three dimensions. I like the role the sport plays in Spira, bringing joy to an otherwise joyless world. I like having the main character be a professional athlete in the sport

Damn it. Well, at least in terms of the story, the second season finale worked well as the series finale.

As much as I liked the show, I think this makes sense. They got a lot of story out in season 2, covered a lot of ground, so I feel at peace.

There’s a whole lot of truth to this when you watch Chappelle clips nowadays and get sidebar MAGA suggestions praising the comedian for being anti-woke.  WTF.  Is he proud of that shit?

Just look at this gasping fucking moron here:

If you want people to read your comments don’t be elite about your age dude. One sentence in I immediately dismissed your comment and have no intention of reading it.

He basically started publicly caping for JK Rowling.

Like... he's not even telling goddamn jokes. He and his defenders try to pass it all off as people being too uptight, but one of his supposed 'jokes' is him literally just saying that trans people are holding LGB people back. That was it. No 'punchline', no nothing. Literally just that statement.

I think there’s also a misconception that the punchlines are offensive, but funny. The bigger criticism is that they are offensive and also not funny. They aren’t somehow incisive and nuanced takes on the things that divide us. They are hack-y jokes with punchlines that are essentially “Trans people, amirite?”

Having read many of Michael Palin’s diaries and things other pythons have said, I’m pretty sure John Cleese was always fairly shitty.

The right seems to be exceptionally stupid when it comes to not understanding media that isn’t in support of their ideals. The go to for me always being Paul Ryan saying Rage Against the Machine was his favorite band. Recently I saw Fox News hosts mad that Green Day has gone “political” because on New Years they

There were also tons of clueless rw idiots who had no clue that Colbert was dunking on them bc they had no concept of satire. Best example, when the Bush administration had him host that WH correspondents dinner (believing he was a “conservative comedian” lol), then he mercilessly roasted them.

Colbert sold it very clearly as satire - a lot of his bits made his character the butt of the joke or had his characteraccidentally” debunk right-wing taking points. He also had the sense to avoid ironic hate speech.

What a fall from grace. He ended his show because he knew people were laughing at the jokes for racist reasons. Now he refuses to have poor people live near him, hangs out with Elon Musk saying only the poor people are booing, and nothing but lazy trans jokes.  Hes cruel and boring in equal measure.  I never thought

There’s a certain threshold past which you stop thinking a comedian is just taking swipes at a certain group of people and start believing he just actively hates them. I think Chappelle crossed it several specials ago.

At this point, with the resources and info at his disposal, it’s no longer mere ignorance from Chappelle. He simply decided to be a downright evil and shitty person. It’s not a matter of being from the “old guard”, or in need of education. He knows what he’s doing is wrong, he know people are being hurt, by the ideas

It’s all fun and games to him because because it’s not personal to him. Well, except for that one transwoman friend who absolves him of his sins.

I tried watching a bit of the Gervais one to see how bad it was, and it was just...weird. Like, the most Boomer takes imaginable. Kept going on about things you “can’t” do anymore, or things you “have to” do these days, and I just kept thinking like, what world is this guy living in?
