are you seriously expecting a kindergarten/1st grade teacher to leave her classroom full of kids in order to take care of your special needs child? to hell with the other 15-20 kids in the class that need supervision? I'm hoping I misread your comment.

At my school, teachers are not allowed to go in the student bathrooms at all for any reason, nor would we be allowed to help children with bathroom issues. I'm not making this up. We were specifically instructed by our principal that this whole area is completely off limits for us. I don't know how it works for the

Thank you for acknowledging little kids stink! I felt like I am just a child hater or something because I like kids, I really do, but sometimes they seriously smell bad. There's no tactful way to tell someone that though I guess - I mean you can drop all the hints you want like "um maybe (s)he needs a new shirt?" or

Are you kidding? I have a full time job(40+he's) and my 15 mo old still manages to get a bath every day. What kind of parent allows their child to go to bed dirty and then spend another day like that. Oh wait, probably the same kind of parent that has their own hygeiene issues.

First grade teacher here. This is an issue, but she did not handle it appropriately. Part of the problem is that teachers are often standing closer to a child than you would stand to someone in other situations (leaning over to look at their work, or talk quietly to them, or leaning in to hear them because they

Okay. Is the note the most tactful way to bring this issue up? No. But this article seems to imply that it is completely outside the realm of appropriate to bring up the problem. And I'm not sure I agree with that. Stinky kids wearing dirty clothes is potentially indicative of some problem at home. So what

More the fact that I have it and can't see any way I could pay it back on such a miniscule salary—I'm currently on an economic hardship deferment, so I don't make payments. But I got rehired for spring, so I'm going to see if I can maybe do a small monthly payment to start paying off the interest and a bit of the

I used flannel, and made my pattern with butcher paper so I could iron it right onto the fabric for easier cutting.
The tutorial says to leave a 1/2" seam allowance on the sides of the legs, but I would go for a full inch so that they aren't too tight.

I just made my first pair of pajama bottoms! I have always been intimidated by sewing clothing (I usually stick to quilts) and I made these without a traditional pattern. EVERYONE GETS PJS FOR CHANUKKAH!!!!

"We apologize for labeling the Bibles as fiction. To make amends, we have taken all the offensive Bibles and burned them in a dumpster. We will make efforts to ensure this mistake doesn't happen again."

This is hilarious. If someone did this to troll, well-played.

Well that is interesting. I did not know that they would count it retroactively. I guess I'll just keep plugging away and hope for the best.

I totally forgot about him but will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. Wow.

Birth control pill user for 11 years... Also get my eyes checked every year. My eyes are doing just fine. AND I have no babies. Win win.

The issue here is that traffic stops are extremely dangerous for cops, and any movement could be a grab for a gun. At night, it's a good idea to slowly turn on your cabin light after you've parked your car so the officer can see inside. A less nervous cop is a safer you.

I always make sure to have my license, registration, and insurance in hand before the cop even gets to the door. It makes me look prepared, and actually boosts confidence because you don't have to fumble around in your glove box looking for it. You can be "Johnny on the spot" with it. ALWAYS be polite and say

Excellent post! As an aid administrator for a public college, I applaud advertising repayment plans. It's very difficult to get this information in front of students and you'd be surprised at how many students ignore these options. A little paperwork can go a long way!

Also for those who are confused about any of the Income-Based plans... this makes it easy enough for a child to understand.

I wish lifehacker would do a post on Public Service Loan Forgiveness. I want to shout about it from the mountains.
