Thank you for all your help! This is terrific! Now I just have to drag my not as qualified, language deficient boyfriend up. ;) Do you guys hire foreign teachers? He could teach... American history... :-/ lol

Awww you treasure! I would LOVE to, and I've taken the brief 'would you be a good Canadian citizen' test your government has online... I'd make a great candidate! I speak two languages and am good at learning them, so I could easily learn French!

YES!!!

Woohoo, glad I'm not the only young professional (part of a professional couple, like you two) who wants to get out.

Yay!! Where is this?! I want to eat here THIS WEEKEND!

Yeah, I think AZ is trying to compete. Or, like, be the Southwest version of Florida.

Yup, and I love it because you know this bill will get challenged, which will mean hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorney fees, and what will be the result? This bill/law/whatever it will be will be thrown out.

Oh god are you serious? F my life I need to move!

Ugh, so sorry guys. I promise, there are some normal people in AZ (me, people I know). I apologize for the others. Now do you see why I'm trying to escape to the PNW?? ;)

Really? Because we went through a similar debate in my city, and no group truly representing low income populations were against fluoridation. Dentists, doctors, and schoolteachers/nurses came to the meetings the city council had, all of them who said they were speaking on behalf of their low income patients or

Hmm, thanks for the info! I don't think I've ever lived in a place known for its pure water (although I think Denver claims its water is good), so I can't really argue for/against that argument. That presents an interesting dilemma: should one support the fluoridation of water, which would benefit many low income

Oh my gosh, she was so cute! I mean, she's classy now, but she was cute as a kid! Ahhh now I see where her adorable children get some of their looks. Thanks for this!

"I am willing to go on the record saying I don't drink people's blood" has got to be the best celeb quote I have read in a LONG time, Pharrell. That's a bold statement, sir. Are you REALLY sure you want to go on the record stating that? Bold indeed!

Girl, you and me might be related. Greasy skin + I have round cheeks = ALWAYS carded, even though I'm getting well, well beyond 21. I hated my skin and cheeks as a teen, because I looked like a 10 year and no one wanted to date me, but now it's terrific!

If I'm understanding your response to Saavedra correctly, a good way to find a site/publication that pays well for articles is to possibly type in "[hobby or talent] writing opportunities"? Curious person looking to supplement her income as well.

Actually, I worked at a school not too long ago (a high school) and, while I didn't teach the subject, I know the kids learn about Emmett Till. PBS or one of those terrific educational channels made an excellent documentary about Emmett Till. I remember because I had to play the video through our library... I watched

I would bring my adorable dog everywhere with me, if I could, so I get you! :) In fact, I think my dog is better behaved than most children so... I don't see why she should be excluded from doing human things... :)

Oooo I just saw this article now - how enlightening! Seriously, not being sarcastic. This was such an interesting and thought-provoking article. I never thought very much of people who are in prison's relationships, but duh. Of course people have wives/husbands/kids/aunts/uncles who love them and may want to see them.

Gallows humor!! I don't know why he wouldn't have enjoyed that joke... ;)

But that whole fluoride in the water thing did fail, and apparently it was a Portland-wide effort (so said someone in one of the comments above). So... maybe Jane isn't too far off?
