This design is lazy.. They are trying to be unique at the expense of a fluid design. Do you even ID bro?

My experience with these boxer engines is that they are fine until you tear them apart. I did my dads head gaskets on his oldish legacy outback, followed all the correct procedures even had the heads resurfaced. about 1000 miles later, one started leaking again so we re-did that side and sold the car!

I hate it when people reference the “unintended acceleration” with these cars... that was strictly for the early FWD Automatic cars, and had no relation to the Quattro manual cars. Plus, it had to do with the floor mats interfering with the pedal, and this one doesn’t have floor mats.

The rigidity of that panel comes from the undercut in the stamping, not from that flat area. flat areas are not very structural, even though they are laid on an arc.

If I could afford it, it would be my first pick! mainly because it is manual.

This makes me glad I have MegaSquirt on my performance car... I can set the rev limit to 2000 RPM whenever I have to take it in (only for alignments or tires etc).
