Yeah, but down here the ground is usually just warm enough to melt it at first. Then the wind and wet chill the ground over the course of the day putting a layer of ice under the new snow. Sure, it looks just like two inches of snow but there's a layer of ice under that crap. I've lived in the north and south.

I have some pretty cool pics of the ones in Miami. I'll have to rip them from my HD at home and post em up.

Yeah, I've read the first book and when the main character(s) really start becoming "vampire hunters" I lost interest. Just seemed like the ways that they did things were not thought out very well or realistic.

I don't know if this was, "instantaneous". It looks like a lot of them were belly up and breaking the surface of the water. It looks as if the cold killed them and they swelled to the surface and froze. It probably was pretty quick but I doubt that the majority died frozen that quickly.

I would much rather have bolts that can tell me their torque values when you're assembling.

Ha, I haven't played Missile Command in ages.

Yeah, mine's doing it right now. I can't reach the server to authenticate even though I know mine is legit.

Maybe the conditions outside of these "clean rooms" are hostile to its reproduction thus limiting it in the wild. They're so small that we may not have come across them yet in the wild but in these environments they thrive. Plus, since there's no other microbes in there it makes them easier to spot. That movie scared the bejeezus out of me when I was younger. Now I watch it and it just makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.

The closest you'll ever get to being a Warg.

It is home to Coca Cola and the largest Delta hub...

To toadly go where no one has gone before...

Yes, it's only in twilight and dark that they turn on IIRC.

BLASHPHEMY!!!!

I got to work on the MV-22 and CV-22 and when I found out about those LED's on the end of the blades it was pretty neat. They use them for formation flying location to make sure they don't come close to each other and clip blades.

It's called a rolling stop. I've been pulled over for it even though I didn't do it. They sometimes use it as an excuse to check you and your vehicle out. They do it a lot in low income neighborhoods just to see if there's anything suspicious about the person/vehicle.

It also only works if the batteries are charged or available. How many times have you gone to pick up a flashlight only to find the batteries drained? This has energy as long as their is heat being produced by your body.
