Why do you think they’re so obsessed with micromanaging who sits on the Supreme Court?
Why do you think they’re so obsessed with micromanaging who sits on the Supreme Court?
And that’s the whole point. They want to punish women, of course, but what they really want is to make sure that the children of single mothers never vote. They can’t survive if they let minorities, women, and anyone inclined toward compassion vote.
And a year is on the quick side. It took my aunt like four years to get the same problem fixed properly.
Ultimately, that’s the whole point. Well, aside from punishing women, of course. The side effect is that when they get older, these kids won’t be able to vote because they won’t be able to get an ID without a birth certificate. Kids of single mothers might vote against measures like this and the loons can’t have that,…
Because everybody wants to be the guy who greenlights the next Gladiator or 300.
While it’s true that many doctors smoked in the 1950s and prior and a few did advertisements for cigarettes, it was already the growing the consensus in the medical community that they were harmful and by 1953, medical journals banned all tobacco ads and doctors were strongly discouraged from both smoking and…
Don’t let the whiners fool you. TFA is being enjoyed by the vast majority of those all over the world who’ve seen it.
But Lucas recycled the stories too and did so just as deliberately. TPM was just as much a “rehash” of ANH as TFA. TFA just did it better and more efficiently.
The vast majority of SW fans don’t care about the outer universe, that’s what the cartoons, comic books, and anthology films are for. The main SW movie line is about the Skywalkers. Period. It has never been about anything else and it never will be.
But far more entertaining than TPM, which was also on the ANH template.
Who cares? Nothing about any Star Wars movie holds up to logical scientific explanation. They’re not supposed to either. The rathars were stupid (that sequence was really only thing in TFA that I straight up hated) but we’ve seen the stupid creature stuff in SW movies before.
Seriously, it’s like the whiners have no idea what Star Wars even is. They’re on the same template. Even the prequels. They just had worse execution than the original trilogy or TFA but the mythical template is the same. TPM, ANH, and TFA are all on the same template and it’s deliberate.
Bullshit, the whiners went in looking to hate it and hated it simply because they wanted to.
Exactly. The prequels were so terrible, they had no choice but connect the sequel trilogy this closely to the original trilogy just to exorcise the demons of the prequels from everyone’s minds. If they’d done something super original and outside of the mythic cycle that Lucas himself set up, the same people bitching…
So, because they fucked up then, we shouldn’t try to force them to do right now?
Vader was very much in control of himself when he did it though. It was a cold, calculated response to arrogance or incompetence, not an infantile rage.
Driver sold it. Christensen didn’t. It’s as simple as that.
No, there won’t. There is no way that Disney is going to have anything that happens in any of the movies, even the Anthology films, be contingent on cartoons that air on one of their secondary cable channels. Rebels routinely pulls in 500,000-700,000 viewers on TV with maybe half to a quarter of a million more on…
Or Jared Leto’s Joker is a lame copycat, which makes a lot more sense than him being the real one. Ditto Harley.
The Burton movies get praise because the Gotham aesthetic was perfect, especially the German modernism look of ‘Batman Returns’ and Keaton was a great Bruce Wayne.
