Fair enough. I came out of a Golf Sportwagen 6spd into this Tiguan and it was a much better drivers experience because I could control the revs so much easier. The Tiguan handles amazingly and looks fantastic, it is just, as you say, gutless

I agree with this completely and I’m pretty close to ordering the burger motorsports tuner along with the peddle/throttle modulator plugin fix. Otherwise it is a phenomenal vehicle, just underpowered and slow, and the transmission is tuned for old ladies and merging on the highway can be dicey if you don’t shift it…

I have a 2018 Tiguan R Spec and if they upgraded it to an ACTUAL performance version R with more of the Golf R’s mechanicals (engine) I would absolutely take my lease back early and upgrade to it, because other than a confounding transmission and underpowered engine it’s an incredible vehicle. 

They should hand out points for avoiding oil slicks and tornadoes just like in the famed racing circuit Super Sprint of the 1980's

If they want to do the geofencing thing, then it should work the other way too, remove the limiter on autobahns and racetracks. Not that people are tracking their Volvo’s, but it would be a good precedent to set.

I’m guessing you didn’t like either of these cars because they are so, so numb. They are both objectively fantastic, looks, appointment, etc. But they both feel SO disconnected from the pavement. That’s what I read into your comment.

As a car guy I guess my opinion is biased, but as far as transportation level offences against our air quality, it seems to me like driving really fast would be WAY down the list behind transport trucks, old cars, too many cars, planes, V8’s (😢) etc. Show me the math on how big of a problem this really is. It is absolutely insane that there isn’t a third party whose only job is to watch games to alert officials to OBVIOUS misses like this. There is no reason the official couldn’t have a screen in a pocket that can be sent this within seconds to overturn something pivotal. We don’t need long replay delays for something…
