I'm pretty sure I've heard scientists say that relating a black hole to a "hoover" is wrong. A black hole does not suck things up like a vacuum. You can't have a vacuum in a vacuum. matter does not get sucked into a black hole, it falls into one at least that is my understanding.

Theres a good reason, they're not scientists, neither of them hold a degree in any science field. That's why they constantly have episodes where they revisit old tests. It's this that makes them fun to watch even though at times they're wrong.
