The other day, my husband said to me, “I decided not to try to reason with you about buying Jagged Little Pill on vinyl and bought what was in our Amazon cart.” I gave him a pitying look and said, “It is an amazing album. You’ll see. You’ll see.”
I remember the night I discovered this video - the whole room of friends went absolutely berserk.
Girl, yes. Jagged Little Pill and Live Through This came out when I was 14/15 and they were perfection to me.
Gotta disagree hard on this one. IMO Jagged Little Pill holds up as a top 10 90s album. It’s a viscerally angry album and Alanis is SO GOOD at getting her emotions across.
Oh, then it’s perfectly legal and fine and just. Glad we sorted that out!
Nope but on an unrelated note, they did get a new library with a nice plaque.
Given that Georgetown Law is ranked 14 in the nation and how much time Tiffany spends partying and socializing while she's supposedly enrolled, I’m going to assume the admissions bribery nonsense also extends to graduate schools now.
If Miss Lindsay would just come out, their kompromat on him would be null and void, but we all know that will never happen.
I remember when Republicans went after Max Cleland, a Vietnam veteran who lost both legs and an arm during his service. They shat all over him and tried to repudiate his service. Disgusting to the core.
Won’t stop them from voting for him. We’ve seen that. Man could defile the corpse and they’d just in the aisles trying to convince the sane that he resurrected the dead.
And hello Twitter—I may not Tweet but I hear things. I write my own comments, too. I don’t have a team. I have me. If it has my name on it—book, comment, whatever—I fracking wrote it. What’s so hard to understand about that?
I write ALL my own books. You didn’t like one, that’s fine. But I wrote it. I very much object to being accused by someone who doesn’t know me of doing something I consider unethical. I write every book with my name on it. No ghost writer, no co-authors, no team. Me. Period. Nora
I don’t even hate Bernie, I just hate deifying any candidate as if they are beyond any criticism.
The fact that the black person is less likely to go for it doesn’t mean the white person isn’t motivated by poverty at least in part.
Side note: Listen to Why is this Happening, Chris Hays’s Podcast interview with Stacey Abrams. She calls herself a “Pragmatic Progressive” and her example was getting a permit before she burned the GA state flag on the steps of the State Capitol building. Because who has time to get arrested when doing something…
For me, it’s pragmatism. I cannot in good conscience aspire for some “revolution” when I know that revolutions put people like me on the front lines. The typical berners who call people like me “low-info voter” for not buying into Bernie’s vision? They won’t suffer. And don’t even get me started on the Susan Sarandon…
You ever notice some of the most shrill people over at Splinter don’t comment over here? Depite the fact that they’re all over every comment on that blog about politics they seem generally afraid to even step foot at the Root let alone even read it.
