To be clear, Obama's recent executive action for immigration has nothing to do with the problems these people face. The "women left in danger" were already in danger before it was announced.

It's not about Obama winning or losing, though. She's just pointing out the complexities of an issue that most of us are only nominally familiar with.

The rape shield law is about the admissibility of evidence - i.e. you can't present certain evidence about the victim at trial.

I think that's a media thing - by agreement, not legal obligation. Unless there's some kind of gag order on the case, and even then I honestly don't know if that would extend to identities of the people involved. I'd be happy if anyone knew otherwise would chime in though.
