@kasakka: The pre-beta versions usually use a dirty way (with little to no optimization whatsoever) of starting up the components. The startup time will probably be considerably improved in the beta and the final release.

@Prairie Moon: As @shinchan said, the #distro choice wouldn't impact speed considerably. But, obviously, you'd have to pick a distro and I agree on that it should be #Ubuntu.

For my use of it, #Firefox is still the best.
