Anime really changed how I thought of the word “rival”. Whereas beforehand I used to think of rivals as nothing but a tough nemesis to defeat, I now think about it with more nuance; they can still be persistently a thorn in one’s side but underneath there can lie a mutual respect, a grudging admiration that arises…

That’s pretty much all I do in my job now, I remote baby sit servers for a data center. I live 5 min away from the site so if something needs hands on I drive over than skip my butt back home.

At an old job, I was one of the last 2 employees at a site as the company was shutting down. I had to be there everyday to make sure servers were still running for the few customers and let people in for access. The servers ran fine for 6 months with no interaction from me and barely anyone came by. So I did whatever…
