Mk story plots are far superior to other fighting games.

I couldn’t agree more. I knew the hot takes were coming, but never has so much been written or said about 2 lines of dialogue in a trailer.

We’ve heard literally:
“what is this place?” and “Mushroom Kingdom here we come.”

That’s 9 words out of a 90+ minute movie. I really don’t think we have enough to go on at this point with how any of them are going to sound as mario.

Obligatory “as a black person” comment.

That sounds awful. 90+ minutes of Martinet’s Mario speaking full dialogue would be like nails on a chalkboard.

Yeah, Kotaku, as per usual lately, gave the laziest possible take here. It might take a couple of listens but Pratt definitely is giving Mario some kind of light Brooklyn-ish accent.

The best comparison I’ve heard is that it sounds a bit like Bradley Cooper doing Rocket Raccoon.

I don’t think you got that narrative right. I think exactly zero people would know who Charles Martinet is if you started questioning strangers. The Chris Pratt disdain has escalated to mainstream, to the point where it’s been a big talking point in magazine cover stories.

I found the opposite. The normal joycons make my wrists hurt with extended play, especially if I’m laying down, while the I have no such issues with the Hori’s.
