Barely adequate? I thought it was downright -quick-! Gotta be in the right gear for sure, but it’s not slow at all!

We got a few of these at my workplace - I’m absolutely blown away by just how good they are. Tons of power for its segment. The CVT is excellent. It handles wonderfully and the steering feels -great-. The brakes feel nice, the seats are excellent, the stereo is decent-enough. All in all, I really, really like the new…
Yup, there’s a _lot_ of tax in gasoline/diesel in Vancouver. That said, we’ve got a pretty awesome transit system and our roads are in excellent condition, so I’m perfectly okay with it. Of note, when the fuel is this expensive, fewer people drive unnecessarily (eg: they’ll go to the closer grocery store even if it…

I love the Model 3 - it’s truly a blast to drive, and a really innovative car! That said, having to wait four months for a busted frunk actuator to be replaced...
My beef with Tesla has nothing to do with their cars - and everything to do with their complete lack of ability to support the cars they’ve sold. A very good friend of mine has a Model 3 with a broken frunk actuator. It’s been broken for four months now, and parts still haven’t arrived.
Man, I wish gas were anywhere near that cheap here. I just put 43L into an FR-S, at $1.809 / L for a nearly $78 fill of 91 octane in a small car.
Heh, I bought a bunch of these for a large fleet, in 2013. They were cheeeeeaaaaaap. If memory serves, there was something like a $5500 fleet incentive, on a $15,000 car, making them under $10k new. They were awful pieces of shit, enjoyed by nobody.
Exactly. I’ve got my mitts on a 2018 MX-5 right now. The car is -excellent-, but the infotainment unit is bad enough that I almost wish it were just an oldschool stereo with Bluetooth input. Whoever decided to place the control knob immediately beneath where your arm rests below the shifter, and make the action of…
To be honest, the entire Mazda infotainment system screams out “deadline is Jan 31st, we must ship!” - it’s clumsy as hell to use.
There seems to be more to it than just the lane markings alone. The size and shape of the shoulder, texture of the concrete and presence of concrete barriers all seem to take a part. The 3 can be awesome or terrible depending on the road.
Yeah. There are many things the Model 3 simply doesn’t fully understand yet. Lanes which close due to alternating-traffic lanes, construction zones, worn out lane markings, small motorcycles and steep uphill curves often produce unpredictable behaviour. It’s simply not ready for autonomy yet.
Engineering experience and qualified people.
Saw this at the auto show - what an absolute turd. This is the car where I accidentally scratched the interior door panel with my _thumb nail_ while reaching for the door handle. And when it’s fairly loaded up, it’s nearly $50K CAD. That’s top-shelf CR-V money. Who the hell would buy this, in their right mind?
Hmm, too bad really.
Looks pretty good!
I really, truly genuinely wish that minimum-security inmates would be tasked with things like repairing roads. And I don’t mean just menial labour - I mean full-stop. Get them to bid on contracts, handle scheduling, transportation, equipment, purchasing, the whole lot. Turn them into employable people with marketable…
Great! That will possibly cut back some of the spam, where the same car is posted 37 different times...
I feel the true irony of the situation is that I was just given a Captcha challenge of “choose all of the images with road signs”. Hmm.
If I were the firmware designer, I’d make sure that one additional second is added for each button press.
