I get you. When I was younger (I'm in my late thirties now), sales was the last thing I wanted to do. What a bunch of phony bullshit. I hate insincere interactions. People using each other. The whole thing is just so transactional. The thing is, I was wrong. Sales doesn't have to be that way. Business

It's not necessarily superficial. If you choose to have a superficial conversation (or the other person does), then it will be. Otherwise, it's just two strangers, in the same place, getting to know each other.

Yeah. They used a pretty horrible comparison. I used to do triathlons (slowly), and I consistently hovered around 8 minute miles for longer runs. Cycling was 22-25 MPH. And the cycling was often for two hours at a time. There's no way at that fitness level that I could have run an 8 minute mile for two hours
