It is totally confusing and I wouldn’t be surprised if Mini drops it at some point. The brand is recognizable enough on its own, and I don’t know any Mini owner who goes around calling their vehicle the Cooper S Countryman or whatever.
I will admit it’s a bit confusing. Especially in the US where they all get the Cooper trim as standard.
We’re getting closer and closer to the point where it is just cheaper to send your baggage out via USPS a few days before flying rather than paying to check / carry on.
The problem is that at this point, the EPA’s rules create an artificial captive market in the US. Clean Euro spec engines won’t pass, so car companies have to redesign them specifically for the US market, upping the cost. The smog you saw in 1968 won’t happen again, because cars and much more efficient, and don’t burn…
At the very least, the US needs to bring it’s emissions requirements in line with Europe, Japan, and Australia. It’s not like every “foreign import” is a leaded gas burning Mexican Beetle.
Considering: How fuel efficient those TDI’s are to begin with; How ridiculously picky the US’s emissions and safety regulations are; and how many tractor trailers and coal-rolling rednecks are running around, I honestly don’t care all that much. It’s a tradition in this country that every few years we have to flog…
I don’t think she is looking for a new car right now but that looks very nice.
I new Gentleman’s Agreement to Not Make Good Looking Cars.
Honda is too. I remember reading on this very site a year or so ago that Acura got survey feedback telling them that the beak on their cars was driving away sales. Not only did they ignore that, they're doubling down and putting them on new Hondas too. I think Japanese manufacturers are having a contest to see just…
Mercedes can probably do this, it’s easy to imagine an upmarket SUV maybe using the Pullman and Maybach branding to indicate its exclusiveness.
Yeah but 911s are a dime a dozen (for good reason, they’re great great cars). The AMG GT is just... cooler.
Def. the EVO and 12v Cosworth are cult classics. The body style of the W201 will ever remain a classic.
If I had dollar for every time I’ve seen a shift knob just slapped on with zero fucks given and the shift pattern totally off center, then I would have an amount somewhere in the 3 digits at this point. I can’t take it. It drives me nuts!
Here’s the tale of Luke, his imported 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.0 and some weird German stuff like a headlight level…
I wrote this on July 1st 2014...
Sorry...but it just looks like every other CUV on the road. It’ll blend into every suburban shopping mall parking lot without even a blink.
