Any one figure old lady needs her milkshake in a bag like corner stores put beer in brown paper bag?

Well, there is such a thing as a flat grill... (ducks for cover)

I got the Fire HD 7 on Amazon day it’s okay. It’s heavier than I expected, and actually not that bad perf wise (10000 on 3DMark Android, not *that* shabby) as a dual core.

I believe what I wrote was I am somewhat of an exception. I speak fluent English, Mandarin, Cantonese, decent Spanish, and I can speak enough Minnanyu to fool casual observers. So I have had no problem fitting in. Keep in mind though I am now in my 40s so my experience will likely be different from yours.

Writing system is COMPLETELY different (traditional vs. simplified Chinese), pronunciation and even the IME on a computer is different (Canjie or Zhuyin vs. Pinyin) and expressions / idioms are different.

Maybe, maybe not. If one only speaks a language part time, there is mental energy involved in mentally translating the words back and forth, and searching for the right words even when one knows what to say. I often slip back into English when speaking Chinese as I can’t quite seem to locate the right word to

A lot of 2nd gen Chinese-Americans, i.e. ABCs, feel like “banana”. (Yellow outside, white inside) It’s since became sort of a slur.

That’s one reason I speak Spanish in front of any Latino faces I see. ;)

It’s the “Marlon Brando Playing Japanese” type stereotype.

I was in South America and one of only two Asian kids in my grade (school was small enough one classroom is one grade) the other kid’s Japanese. So I didn’t exactly have many friends to talk to unless I TRY to make friends with the locals, is there?

I am a Chinese-American male, and what you suggested, i.e. stop being humble / self-deprecating actually reflect how little you understand Asian cultures, but that’s fine, America is a big melting pot, blah blah blah.

In a way, I agree with you, but not all the way. I don’t see Snoopy’s “Joe” characters as real, but rather, I see them as a six-year old’s imagination, much like Hello Kitty isn’t a literal cat, and Calvin and Hobbes don’t really have fighter jets and whatnot on their madcap adventures.

What struck me about that car lot photo is... How SMALL the Skyline GT-R was.

I’m one of the first suckers to buy that laptop fan (and posted the review) and I can tell you that it works, but it ain’t pretty. And it’s just as noisy, if not noisier than the built-in fan, but at least you can adjust the speed of this one. At regular price of 17 it ain’t that bad. $12 is a bargain though.

You’d think they want the airbumps (tm) on the EDGES of the doors, rather than one single patch...

Anybody can make energy drinks nowadays.

Once upon a time, I was a tester, for one summer, at Spectrum HoloByte, aka Sphere aka MicroProse Alameda (but much later). I met Gilman Louie and the rest of the gang and worked along side them and has my name in a few games under testing.

Had to replace main axle seal on one of my buses recently, and it’s a “rush job” too (only 2 hours to do it) and as you may know... Buses run on dual 315 80R22.5’s on the drive axle. So there’s the main axle nut, the various rings, the bearings (inner and outer, each with its own race), THEN we came to the seal that

You can always make Musubi instead of sushi...

Looks like the booster stage exploded, giving just enough push for the missile itself to pop into the water like a bad belly flop.
