There are some similarities, but the differences are bigger. Turbochargers typically use centrifugal compressors and turbines, something which is used in some gas turbines, including smaller jet engines, but not in larger ones.
There is not really a "bang". If there is, you are doing something very, very wrong. The flame, of course is a constant relatively gentle burn, not an explosion like in an internal combustion piston engine. Think of your gas furnace.....so it would be suck, squeeze, whoosh, blow.
Russia is really very nice. If you lived on the moon and gathered your knowledge of America by watching 'COPS' and news reports on School Shootings and thought most Americans acted like actors in Hollywood movies - your perception of the USA may be like ours of Russia.
Am I the only one who has decided I never want to go to Russia ever due to Russian dash cam footage? (ignoring all the other problems the country has)
As are people who take off a helmet in the middle of a fight.
People who punch people in the head while it is protected by a full-face helmet are, well, morons.
Because they think monthly payments matter more than total cost. Because I can afford a $25k car, does not mean I am interested in a 90 month loan on a $65k car.
Because I'm not allowed to go to the lot and just "look" without being hassled. Because they still think "working out numbers" is still a phrase to use. Because they don't stop calling you about your visit. Because they want to sell you the car they need to hit their quota, not the car you want.
I hate people calling every manumatic transmission a "tiptronic." It's kind of like the "Walkman" effect of the 80s/90s. Every tiptronic is an automanual, but not every automanual is a tiptronic.
As a car salesman who works extremely hard to provide the best service possible, reading articles like this infuriate beyond belief. I am not your typical car salesman and neither are a vast majority of my co-workers yet we get treated like scum on a daily basis. A majority of us have college degrees and have our…
How is haggling fun? Most salesmen are douches, and at the end of the day I just want a car, no trouble. I'm not looking for an argument or debate.
Buying a car sucks? Try selling one on craigslist. Especially a very cheap one...
Here's how I see it as a regular person with an average job with average responsibilities: Any negotiation results in a winner and loser. Car salespeople (or anyone selling on a quasi-barter system) are trying to get as much of my money as possible while I'm trying to save money because I have a child and/or bills…
My favorite: After you finally agree on price (probably written diagonal-coolguy style and with a Sharpie) you spend the next two hours of your life moving from the salesman's office to the manager's office to the finance guy's office to the service office. Each stop you get to repeatedly tell them no to the…
I say, do a little research, decide what you want to pay and don't bother with the haggling.
Most people aren't going to believe "there is no wiggle room," every dealership ever (except carmax) says something similar to that when you buy a car. So, whenever someone buys a car they will expect to be getting f'ed with the first offer. You can offer someone a car for free and they will counteroffer something.…
That's pretty overwhelming. I always thought the haggling part was kind of what made the process fun, but I guess most people don't like playing stupid mind games about money with pushy guys in bad suits. Don't feel bad if you are a car salesperson reading this, in which case I think your suit looks fantastic on you.…
This is one of the things that bugs me a little about articles that hit back against commonly held conceptions. I am pretty sure the vast majority of us don't actually think salesmen are evil. I think, since most of us have bosses, we understand that they are probably being pushed into certain behaviors by their…
Best car salesman I ever met was one my father followed to 3 different dealerships when it cam time to buy cars. He was knowledgeable (to the point of knowing how many times the 15 inch tires went around per mile versus the 14 inch this was the early 90s) and no pressure, he did not care what you bought, but he acted…
