I've been eating pretty poorly for the last month so after I got home from the gym last night I opted to jump back on the horse, so to speak. Garlic pepper chicken quinoa stir-fry. Enough to feed me likely through tomorrow.
Thanks for keeping this going! I wasn't paying attention to the music in the past week when I've been in there.
A buddy of mine got a few extra cases for the bar he manages in his family's restaurant. I will be picking up a case of it at cost soon. I will then drink the hell out of it.
I've always lived by the code of "When times are great, drink bourbon. When times are tough, drink bourbon." It hasn't failed me yet. I seem to have worked my way through the more obscure brands at my local liquor store, so maybe I'll just cheap out and do Jack and Coke Zero this weekend.
I once played a bard named Jagger in a D&D campaign. The DM allowed me to refer to bardic inspiration as "Shadoobie" as long as I danced like Mick Jagger when I did it. I also had a playlist on my phone of Stones songs that synced up to whatever spell I was casting. The most clever thing I'll ever do and only 5 other…

Oh, it certainly isn't above criticism for the former. But as far as action on TV goes, no one comes close to Cinemax for the past few years (see also: Banshee).
You ever watch the little behind the scenes looks they put out? Pretty much every time something crazy happened on that show it was practical, and a lot of the time Stapleton and Winchester were performing their own stunts.
We've all said it before: practical effects should always be used as much as possible.
I've generally always described it to people as "Call of Duty meets 24". Huge action set pieces, but with plots that make sense (more or less) and even throw a decent twist in there now and then.
Sure, if you ignore the fact that he didn't show up in another game for 8 years that saw 6 or 7 other games released in that span.
Personally, I grew up playing the series from the first installment. I've got fond memories for all the games up to SOTN, but every single Metroidvania style game was way more fun than any of the earlier games. I'm a big fan of the "find stuff to get more stuff" genre of video games, so I'm a bit biased.
In the real canon, anyway. Don't get me started on Lords of Shadow 2.
Friday night tradition in my house was pizza and a video game from the local rental place. We'd keep it through the weekend until Monday night so any game that wasn't beaten by then probably never was going to get beaten (well, until I was older and had a disposable income anyway). Castlevania III (and the Ninja…
"Granted, a show about Navy SEALs is necessarily going to involve Islamic extremists as antagonists…"
That's always one of the things I appreciated about Strike Back. Granted the show wasn't fooling anyone into thinking it was anything more than "Combat Dudes Blowing Up The Bad Guys", but at least they branched out…
Why bother getting him if you're not going to let him go Full Goggins?
Which is why I'll be using it from now on.
I was already pretty sold on this judging by the cast alone, but Better Off Ted garnered an awful lot of good will for Victor Fresco in my book. Must watch.
I hadn't thought about either of them in years and I sure didn't miss them.
