What is the point of charging her? It seems like a waste of county resources for no good reason and unnecessarily cruel to a grieving mother. She has to live with her baby’s loss. That seems like punishment enough.

Right? I can’t imagine the right timing for this, but DAMN this ain’t it. It also really skeezed me out that it was a prank “for her husband”
“It was a joke for (my husband).”
Yeah, except that it sounds like he’s working on a military base now, which means he’s collecting a government check and his patients likely don’t have a choice about whether or not to see him. *burns everything down*
This would be disgusting under any circumstance, but it’s especially repulsive that he did it to a cancer survivor who was actively fearful for her health.
If a doctor doesn’t lose their medical license for this then what exactly does it take?
What in the fuck. What in the fucking fuck, man?!?!?!?!
She reacts in an adult responsible way: “HA HA CUCK! THIS IS WHY WE NEED A REAL MAN TO TAKE CHARGE.”
Imagine if we lived in a country where this could negatively impact a candidate?
I didn’t necessarily want her to punch him in the face, but I absolutely want her to punch him in the face.
Good. Good. Good.
Let’s be real, you are likely to be sexually assaulted by a cop who ends up with a promotion rather than punishment. Then when you were too loud about it and not letting it go, then an officer will “fear for their life.” And the department will threaten your family and denigrate your history.
This line of thinking drives me up the wall. I was a nurse for ten years in locked psych. We had patients that were violent. Yet, in my old profession, we did not raise a hand to them. We de-escalated, we redirected, we disarmed. All without a weapon or military grade armor. Just me, my NACs and nurses, all in scrubs.
My fav part might be this quote from the defense attorney:

I just don’t understand giving birth that many times like vaginias are wonderful magic things but they aren’t built for that.

In answer to your last question, sometimes I feel like the answer is yes. When women know each other well enough to open up about this, you won’t find many without an experience. Of the friends I have who are close enough to talk, there isn’t one of us without this in our past. The statistics are so far off base…
