“Females”

I cried, too. I also cried at the video of the two little boys talking about which Black Panther character they are while staring at the movie poster. As a matter of fact, I’ve been crying at a lot lately, but only (mostly?) in these good-type ways, so KEEP THEM COMIN’!

Thanks for the this! Girls like Taylor Richardson and all the wonderful teens out protesting are melting the cynical wall I built around my heart in 2017. These kiddos are giving me so much hope!

I’m as black as they come, lol. **Fist bump**

I know several people who have seen this and the word of mouth has been most impressive. That it pisses off all the right people is just icing on the cake. I can’t wait to see it.

I saw this yesterday in a theater full of black MBA’s who bought out the theater for the occasion and was overcome. Since I was a child I’ve wanted this movie to be made. I’ve followed Black Panther as a character since I discovered him in grade school and have identified and loved every piece of associated work.

I think the show also improved some of the problematic qualities of the books too (so far). They definitely played down all the racist undertones of Mr. Willoughby’s character (I think I stopped reading around book 4, so not sure where they go from there).

I read the first two books  and Outlander is one of those TV series that I like better than the books, mostly because of the casting is so good that I find the characters more interesting than they are as written.

Now playing

YUP. In the hotel room. That scene is phenomenal. I actually flinched when I saw her kick him in the groin and then just throw him against the wall like a damn rag doll.

EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH HAYWIRE WITH GINA CARANO. She is a total badass MMA fighter and her fight scenes were incredible.

I flipped the script one time and ask them the same questions they asked me (including, “where is your family really from”). He eventually said that his family was Ireland. So I told him to go back to Ireland so that he could be surrounded by a sea of shiny white faces.

Same, but I’ve dug in now:

I’m an American-born child of Chinese immigrants. While Bari’s comments (and subsequent “if you were offended, that says more about your intentions than mine!!!” response) were disappointing, to any POC, especially Latinix and Asian POC, this is exactly 0% shocking. We get othered all the time, even in the country of

We do not deserve Chrissy.

Seriously? She said this and she said it now. She’s an author mostly read by women and if anyone knows what words mean it’s a successful writer.  If she’s fine with making that statement why shouldn’t Jezebel-a feminist site-mention it?

I have a niece who is going through what I’ll call her coltish stage. She’s all legs and knees and elbows and jaw, and I know for a fact it’s going to shake out, but I can’t lie to her. This is a tough look compared to the little girls who sort of keep their little girl faces (some of them forever! you know those

Abuse aside, I still can’t make myself sit through an ever-expanding catalogue of movies where an increasingly old dude/obvious director stand in can’t deal with his age appropriate love-interest and must instead find himself a waifish 19-year-old ingenue to reinvigorate his shriveled artistic penis.
