I used to think this was a contradiction too, but now I suspect that both are just symptoms of a system that wants to limit womens rights by removing control over their bodies wherever they can. They dont actually give a damn about religious moral convictions or aborted babies, those are just convenient tools.

Do they not know that bc is used not only to prevent pregnancy but also by people with endometriosis and PCOS (among other things)? Without Planned Parenthood’s help I would have to pay for a very expensive (at least for me) birth control pill due to other health conditions. Before Planned Parenthood set me up I had insurance that covered it almost completely. After I didn’t have that anymore I would have been spending more on my birth control…

This right here is why it should be considered an etiquette breach of the highest order to ask someone if he or she is trying for a baby. Best case scenario, you’ve invaded someone’s privacy that does not intend to have children and is fine with it. Worst case, you deeply hurt the feelings of someone who wants…

Is it a research facility where any human encounters with the animals are for the purpose of training for medical care, stimulation/fun for the animal, education for the human audience for the purposes of conservation, or scientific research? Or is it a for-profit facility where the primary purpose of human encounters…

I’d suggest checking out the Humane Society’s The Case Against Marine Mammals in Captivity report from 2009. One of the things it talks about is the vested interest facilities that display marine mammals have in insisting that the animals they display are unfit for release.
