But the government does not actually have a mandate to protect people, otherwise everytime you were hurt you could sue them for failing to do their job.

First of all its not the gov’t job to protect you, its your responsibility to protect yourself. Second if some asshole decides to off his ex, its not his drinking buddies fault or responsibility to stop him.

The Christians came sailing in at the end, I’m talking at least 50-100 years before that. And it was really a tale about one small tribe being swallowed up and one man’s escape to reach his wife. Things were quite a bit different in North America than South America during that era.
