Counterpoint: the rest of the Star Wars universe without the Jedi just isn’t that interesting, has an extremely spotty track record in fiction with more lows than highs, doesn’t generate as much interest among fans, and could take place interchangeably in almost any space fantasy universe.

The Sith fleet had the same problem as the Clone army. How was Kamino able to build a galaxy conquering army on just one planet completely hidden from everyone else? How was one Jedi able to authorize the creation of the army? Who paid for it? How did the Republic not notice the funds going towards the army?

My favorite is still in TFA, when the Starkiller base is shown to be so close to a sun that it would have rapidly spiraled into it (because gravity), yet it somehow manages to be a fucking ice planet instead of a barren, scorched wasteland.

The OT hangs together waaaaaaay better than it should despite the lack of planning. But I think a huge part of that was Lucas having this universe in his head. Yeah, stuff got tweaked majorly throughout, but it all stemmed from Lucas.

This new trilogy stemmed from no one.

However, people don’t freak out when their facial data is being mined by the company that makes the app.

Look the movie is bad.

So THAT is why the movie was bad. They took out the scene that was holding the entire plot together. Shame. Think of how different the Oscars would have been that year. Wow.

I kinda am glad this movie exists tho. It’s so whack that it’s brilliant imo.

Even a puddle of slime can tell why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch.
