They also knew that there were cameras throughout the house. They knew and still did what they did. My guess is at best they thought he’d bounce back and no one would ever see the footage. They never expected him to die. It also probably means in the past they’d done other things they shouldn’t have, it was recorded

I’m gonna be sick. I can’t even finish reading the timeline of events on ABC News. Absolutely inhuman and atrocious behavior.

If anything, the full story is even worse than this sounds: as a pledge, he was required to run a drinking gauntlet, then fell down the stairs, was hauled up, whereupon several drunk frat members fell ON HIM while he was unconscious; they tried slapping and throwing water in his face and when that didn’t rouse him,

What an awful way to die. I’m sure these guys will get away with what they did because people like this always manage to get acquitted.

When you read the entire grand jury presentment, appalling doesn’t begin to describe what went on. They had even seen a pledge suffer a (much milder) head injury in a previous semester. But they just kept up the same idiocy. Drinking make you feel grown up, gentlemen? Enjoy your grown-up prison.

Wild card: the victim was white.

You should probably reserve that kind of anger for the rich pieces of shit who insist that, despite all rational scientific evidence to the contrary, consuming ground-up rhino horn will get their old dicks working again. Or who REALLY want some ivory cups and jewelry. The poachers do horrible shit but more than likely

I hate when gossip blogs misrepresent shit like this.

He was making a joke.

Now playing

Please, everyone who thinks he’s acting like a sulky, entitled douchebag, just take two minutes and watch the damn clip (which, for some reason, links instead to Apple.com in the post)

It could either be seen as unsavory and out of touch or just kind of honest. Liking getting free stuff is probably about one of the most relatable things celebrities express.

Who doesn’t want love and free stuff? Y’all chastising him for this admission are some sanctimonious liars. Y’all don’t deserve Valentine!

I suppose that’s true. I figured him saying it on Graham Norton of all places would be a dead giveaway!

There are a lot of people who don’t recognize sarcasm, particularly not in print. And I’m glad I’m not one of them!

What does that have to do with whether legislators have read the text? Like I said, they should be held responsible for knowing what it does, not for having read the text personally.

I watched the original interview and the article leaves out that all of this was said in a very light-hearted and facetious manner. He wasn’t seriously complaining about not being recognized. He was joking about it. I have fairly neutral opinions regarding Bacon but the article sort of misrepresents the interview.

I’m a Hill staffer. This is accurate with the exception of former Rep. Dave Thomas. He was a notorious asshole, but he was thorough when it came to reading. (No, not the guy who founded Wendys.)

The animals being rarer has only driven prices higher. They don’t care about sustainability. The buyers will just find some other rare thing to buy and the poachers will move onto the next best thing.

In before the false equivalencies, mansplanations, basic misunderstandings of this issue, and complete ignorance of imbalances of power and how they shape our world view.

Well it is not a temple anymore, so no room for it in this list.
