Yep...and ultimately allowing those who aren’t interested the ability to skip it means they can continue to draw in new players while also leaving the story alone for those that want to experience it in full. That’s ultimately a win-win in my book.
That’s basically it. I LOVE the story but at some point there’s just way too much of it to do, and even if it’s amazing, it’s just not feasible to complete all of it at a good pace.
This! I mean, how many new platforms will they release the original games on before realizing that’s simply not what ANYONE wants.
Man knows his audience.
Yeah. It’s gonna be weird, living next door to the biggest kleptocracy in the history of the world.
Yes! The value is outstanding, I’m guessing my wife and I are both well over 100 hours played since the PC release.
Keyboard/Mouse forever! I love it, but the Mrs loves playing with the gamepad. While I find fishing a bit easier with the pad, I find EVERYTHING ELSE easier with the keyboard and mouse. I can’t stand in the center of my 3x3 plot and water all nine tiles with a gamepad!
Also, with the amount of time we put into this…
Months ago it was just the one dev working on it by himself. He spent the last few months after release just releasing patches to fix the game, in his blog I remember him posting that the reason he didn’t have multiplayer is because he didn’t know how to do it. He only recently has gotten some help from Chuckle Fish…
I wouldn’t say that. It saves on development costs and it consolidates their game divisions so they’re not developing games for two systems. And since their handheld is the far more popular system it increases the chances for more 3rd party games.
I think the people who buy both are a drop in the ocean compared to overall sales. The thing is their console business has not been doing well while their handhelds continue to fly off shelves. Why spend so much money in R&D to make 2 devices when the majority buy one, by a landslide? It doesn’t matter if they make…
Except there are very few games that get released on both the Wii U and the 3DS, and even fewer people who own both systems and would actually buy both versions of a given game.
I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate. I’d imagine that the number of customers that bought both a Wii U and 3ds version of the few games with both (Smash, Monster Hunter, etc) is pretty small in proportion to the total sales.
Sure, the don’t sell more, but they don’t lose money making games for 2 consoles and the actual 2 consoles, so maybe from that point of view, it might benefit them.
It does in a lot of ways make great sense from a business perspective. Consider the WiiU’s paltry sales figures. This is due to game droughts. No games = so hardware sales = no 3rd patty support = no games. This cycle will now be broken. A consultant!er can buy an NX in confidence knowing that ALL Nintendo titles will…
For hardcore Nintendo fans, I agree: it makes more sense to have two separate platforms since they will buy both.
Read the manga, thought it was great. Hope they can do it justice in the run-time of a movie.
I didn’t know of the one time free change, I can use that to update from my old handle to this one.
If nothing else, the end of Gawker gives another stock line to individual morons who NEED NEED NEED to complain about the existence of some post that doesn’t meet their inscrutable definition of what belongs on the other blogs.
He Kobayashi Maru’d it like a boss
