Arguing that this is counterproductive is, sadly, pointless. There are two reasons for this.

And yet I know Trump voters who didn’t really want to vote for Trump, aren’t terribly satisfied with Trump, but are scared of all the ‘socialists’ running. And the one name they mention as a ‘Democrat they could actually vote for’ is Biden.

I’m confused. I saw plenty of “Liam Neeson said a racist thing” articles, and quite a few “Liam Neeson doesn’t seem to understand why people don’t like what he said” articles, but I don’t recall any “Liam Neeson’s always been in the Klan, so let’s burn all his movies” articles. I saw a few comments like that - but

If he’d made this apology after the initial comment - or even said some of these things while telling the story in the first place - there would have been no need to do-overs. Many people were already willing to give him the benefit of the doubt before this apology. Anyone with sense should be willing to move on from

I’d prefer a re-make of the 1954 ‘classic’ Them!.  Just replace all the original characters with black actors, and all the giant ants with white people, and it would work just as well as the original.

Trump was probably upset to learn that he couldn’t just fake a disability and win the special olympics.  When someone pointed out these were athletes, and he’s not, he likely responded “They’re not even real people, what do you mean I couldn’t beat them in a race?”  (Add about three other sentences, thrown in there

    Dude, a couple of points.

Is it bad that my biggest problem with this is that the picture looks nothing like Reagan? It doesn’t even look like young Reagan - I have, unfortunately, seen some of the bad movies he made before becoming a politician.

Exactly. This just feeds into the narrative that it’s the left that is ‘too extreme’ for the country.

I think this is the result of tying RPG mechanics to games that don’t focus on story. In a story based game, you eventually get to the end - so even if you could theoretically get every perk, there’s no reason to continue and every reason to start a new character. This requires some balancing of the amount of perks

If Kraft wanted to pay a willing prostitute for sex, he can certainly afford one who takes a little pride in her work. He went cheap, and while it’s possible the police in Florida screwed up their case, I don’t find it unlikely that a place like that is engaging in human trafficking.

“Michigan still ranks dead last in road construction spending out of all 50 states,” but we’re supposed to worry about “residents already tired of footing the bill.” Except it should be clear, if USA today’s numbers are accurate, that we haven’t been paying the bill. We’ve been keeping our cost arbitrarily low and

I just listened to ten minutes of Valenti falling into the exact same arguments called out in this article, while whining about ‘PC outrage culture.’ This doesn’t strike me as outrage, so much as an acknowledgment that something is fundamentally broken in sports culture (at least, in the author’s opinion).

    Modern day Republicans (aka Trumpists):

You forgot the part where Mike tried (and failed) to be an updated Lawrence Welk on Fox News for a couple of years, but was too boring and not racist enough to carry Sunday nights.

Just the other day a co-worker was complaining about how much money doctors made off of vaccines, while pointing me to Jenny McCarthy as if she could possibly be a reliable source of information.  I wonder if he would notice this, or discount everything because it comes from Jezebel?

“Give him some time to solidify his positions.”

As an atheist former Republican, I voted with and silently endured the God nonsense for far too long. (Yes, that is on me, I’m not asking for sympathy here.) It was bad enough hearing it from preachers and born again Christians who, while I disagreed with their religion, at least had some honest claim to their faith.

White nationalists vote.  Those of us who weren’t happy with how large a role they play in the party already left, so they make up a large percentage of the Republican base.  Anyone who needs those votes to hold office - or at least needs those people to not be angry enough to make it to the polls that election -

Was she, though? She was never going to win the coal states, regardless of what she said about coal or who my former party ran against her. You cannot create a scenario where she wins West Virginia.
