Ben its all about direct line of site and where you are - if you have a 10 foot hedge do you have an expectation of privacy that your neighbor won't see you from his 2nd story window?
what wire is being tapped here? wiretapping laws are not implicated by videotaping.
well that's not how trespassing laws work... but they weren't hovering over private lands anyway
No.
1. they weren't flying over the private property, they were over the state owned road adjacent.
if they were doing this in say a field house or some enclosed space, then yeah, they have some expectation of privacy... but they're firing guns into the air at live flying targets - they can't reasonably expect privacy from someone viewing this from flying overhead
Yes, it is true and the Supreme Court (Florida v. Riley) has long ago ruled on this. You can't really compare wiretapping and videotaping - the former requires special equipment or action by the carrier to give access to what would otherwise be a communication between two parties - you have a reasonable expectation…
the important legal question is whether the hunters exclaimed "its coming right for us!" before they shot at the drone. as long as they did that, they should be in the clear.
no reasonable expectation of privacy to the aerial rights over your lands... plus they were hovering over adjacent land owned by the state
if the threat of it being caught on video tape was enough for the "hunters" to cancel their "hunt", then there has to be a gruesome or un-sportsmanlike aspect to what they were doing
No, you don't have a right to privacy in the aerial space over your lands. Also, they were hovering over the state owned road nearby.
If you do not eat, you WILL lose weight... aaaaand eventually starve to death.
Doing it, and doing it well is why Ladies Love Cool James.
to clarify, i'm not defending the ad - its bad - I just don't know if its "HAY YOU GUYS GOTTA SEE HOW BAD THIS... ITS SO BAD ITS NEWS" bad
whoa, who pissed in your cheerios this morning? maybe i'm just desensitized to this stuff, but the rant seemed way over the top for this - at least they were making an attempt at humor and added a slight wrinkle - the usual over-the-top cheerful musical ads are done without a modicum of humor or wit...
they got off easy as compared to somebody who volunteered for combat training... not so much as compared to somebody deciding to participate in a peaceful and passive protest...
I've never been prouder of my iPhone.
