Yeah there was talk about them pulling out of the US market all together at one point, if I remember correctly. T-Com is a mammoth company in Europe and vicinity, their US presence is probably just for show at this point.

It depends on the country really, but the point is they concentrate on Europe, and gave up on success a long time ago in the US.

The US market is not a priority for T-Mobile. They dominate Europe, and they sell the iPhone here, actually they where the first one to have it. I can totally understand them not wanting to spend billions on just one device, in a market where they don't really have a chance to improve their position...

This is a great run-around just throw in the bag device. Chrome OS is great for the above mentioned uses, and really most of what you do now days is in a browser...

Chrome OS is really a modified Ubuntu. So yeah Linux works on it :)
