The entire core theme of Devilman is that everyone deserves a second try, and that even the worst of the worst may be spoken to and the sacrifices required to do that are worth it. It is literally the opposite of nihilistic -- even as everything is terrible in one go around, it may be improved for the next.

Tsubasa is very much a common unisex name. When I lived in Japan I knew many Tsubasas of both genders. It is actually maybe even more feminine sounding than male sounding in Japanese, given the few kanji combinations for it are very “soft”.

Shion is is also a unisex name but it’s not as common. In this case, it’s a

One of these things+Games is going for ~1200usd at the Another Castle in Lynnwood, Washington, and god damn if I didn’t almost take out some savings to buy it the moment I saw it.

holy SHIT

One thing I tell people who have trouble in boss fights is that, in most games there is no timer on boss fights. Too often our reaction is to immediately start rushing the boss, thinking that if we can kill it before it kills us then that is the most efficient method. I’ve seen so many people die to Soulsborne bosses

I’m so triggered that you called RahXephon a ripoff. RahXephon is so good on its own! The similarities are only surface level! Both can be good, okay!! BOTH!!!!!!!!! AAAAAH!!!

I loved the bottle episode. It might be my favorite episode of the season.

As far as Kiernan Shipka goes though, I agree. I was so psyched for her as Sabrina after seeing The Blackcoat’s Daughter. She can act, she can act hella creepy. But she never gets a chance to go full occult, and as a result it always feels like

Unfortunately the God of the Used Book Festival is not Ozu, but he’s a similar character with the same voice actor as a fun cameo.

It is set in the same universe, based on another novel by the same author who wrote The Tatami Galaxy’s source novel.

A more literary translation of the title would be “The Night is Short, Walk Forth Young Maiden”

This movie, and Tatami Galaxy, are based on a trilogy of loosely interconnected books. Tatami Galaxy has a fan translated version available on the internet, I’m not sure about this one.

Yeah, I’m aware of the situation behind the game, I was just using it as an example for those very reasons.

Holy shit if Spirits is a way to play old smash games (w/ their mechanics and stages or whatever) from WITHIN ultimate I will lose my goddamn mind in excitement.

I played Panzer Dragoon Saga through emulation. NA copies go for 600+ on ebay now. Sega is most certainly not collecting royalties for this game. It is not an original sale, and it isn’t being sold by active retailers. I would not have played this game, or the series, if not for emulation 20 years after the fact.

The

I’ve wanted a Belmont in Smash for a while, and when Bloody Tears leaked last night and the community decided it was all but official that Simon would be the Rep, I was happy, but not overjoyed. I figured I’d play him a bit and if I didn’t like him I’d switch off.

But boy, when that trailer hit its halfway mark.... I

Why so aggro? GFs were hype!

Death Note. It’s a meme on the ending of the series, which was originally screencaps from the Manga edited with the dialogue replaced with these “Swimming Lessons”, but then someone went and made it a gif when the anime was released.

Now playing

Replace Ni No Kuni with Panzer Dragoon Saga, cowards!

This is so awesome. More games need to take this approach.

Mednafen’s Saturn Core is pretty amazing and developing very quickly. Give it a spin if you haven’t.
