I definitely get that Persona is more popular than SMT proper; I think that was the case long before P5. But “Persona without the heart” still seems like a pretty ignorant comparison, along the lines of saying “Advent Children is like Final Fantasy VII but with worse gameplay.” Heart is at the very core of Persona, as

There are a lot of new companies making new games, go play those, this kind of combat is what fans of the company are looking for from them

I think more of a culmination than a rehash. Not sure why they should make a new kind of game when they are good at making the games they make.

“Rehash of everything FromSoft has already done.”

Are we seriously going to talk about Kotick “taking a pay cut” after taking a $155 MILLION bonus back in June? Not mentioning that in this context seems negligent at best.

The amount of piracy promoting this site has done recently is embarrassing.

This article is really scummy. I’ve always enjoyed your content Zack, but this article made me lose some respect for you. The game literally just released yesterday for crying out loud. Genuinely shitty article to post. At least wait a few months.

I sincerely hope that Kotaku never gets a review copy of a game again.

Sis somebody seriously ok this article or are you guys just allows to post whatever the hell nonsense you want now? Either way, please stop.

You’re saying a company is not entitled to make money on a product they released one day ago?

I’m not fond of articles like these. The tone is encouraging persons to pirate the game.

Older games, I can understand - but encouraging the torrenting/pirating of a game one day after its’ release? For fuck’s sake.

These figures are missing a lot of information. A bunch of different revenue streams are missing from my understanding. Not to mention “hot tub streamers” drive traffic off Twitch’s platform and generate the majority of their revenue from other platforms like Onlyfans.

The online features like “unlocking the different starts and gear for the offline levels”? The REGULAR progression of the game is all tied to the online, you seriously are being ridiculous here. Imagine if Hades prevented you from using anything but the unleveled Sword and mirror if you played it offline.

Probably assumed it had been removed, since the whole point of GoG is that they sell DRM free games.

It’s not uncommon for games that have been out for a while to have their DRM removed. GOG has a DRM-free reputation so it’s not surprising when people see this game listed on it they’d think the DRM no longer applied. Even if you accept that an exception was made since it’s a portion of the game that requires it, the

Yeah, this is a shitshow. It’s especially worrying because the no-DRM policy is the ONE reason to buy games on GOG and not Steam since Valve’s ecosystem, for all of its MANY flaws, has several “luxuries” that are simply nonexistent on CDPR’s storefront. It also has better and more frequent discounts.

Kotaku should not be covering this game.

Because

I still fail to see how what he did was either illegal or unethical. Is it because he used the poors to do it, and none of the uber rich liked that?
